On this 4-day tour from Fez to Marrakech, you’ll discover the best of what Morocco has to offer. This exciting and revealing 4-day desert tour from Fès to the dunes of Erg Chebbi and Marrakech begins in the Middle Atlas. Here you can observe the Barbary apes. These mountains are full of orchards and in the “capital of apples and mines”, Midelt, you interrupt your desert journey to spend a night in the desert, you’ll take part in a camel ride through the dunes before a traditional Moroccan dinner.
The evening will be followed by an evening of Berber and nomadic music around a campfire under a myriad of brilliant stars. The night’s rest in your private tent in a luxury desert camp only adds to the magic of this peaceful, silent place.
Morning departure on this 4 Day Luxury Sahara Desert Tour From Fes To Marrakech from your Riad for Merzouga. This journey takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Then we’ll make stops along the way in the alpine town of Ifrane, also known as the Swiss of Africa. Then we’ll stop in the cedar forests of Azrou to see the monkeys.
After a lunch break in Midelt, we’ll head for the Ziz valley, where we’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the palm trees and take some great photos. Arriving in Erfoud, we visit the date market and the fossil museum. We then head for the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Dinner and overnight at the desert
After breakfast, you’ll go on a tour of the dunes. First we’ll head for the Khamlia village, home to people originally from Mali, where we’ll enjoy a beautiful concert of Gnawa music and share a delicious cup of tea. We’ll continue on to the Mfiss mines, a desert plateau where we’ll meet Berber nomads and Tissardmine oasis.
Then return to the inn at around 3pm, where the camels and desert guide are waiting to take you on an adventure through the sand dunes. You’ll spend the night in a nomad tent camp, to the sound of drums in the middle of the Sahara. It’s an excellent opportunity to take photos of the sunset and sunrise. An excellent dinner will also be served under the stars to the gentle rhythms of the local music.
After sunrise in the dunes, camel ride back to the hotel at the dune line for breakfast and a shower. Then we head for Ouarzazate via the Todra gorges (300m high) canyons, where you can enjoy a leisurely hike and lunch in a local restaurant. At night we continue along the Route des Mille Kasbahs, as there are huge kasbahs on both sides of the road.
Later, we pass through the Dades Valley and the Ville Roses, stopping to visit the women’s cooperatives that offer a wide range of rose-based cosmetics before we reach the palm groves of Skoura, where a large number of Kasbahs such as Amrhidil are surrounded by gardens and palm trees. 45 km further on. Lunch break, after which we will head to Dades Canyon, Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, we can enjoy a visit to Ouarzazate (Morocco’s Hollywood), considered the Hollywood of Africa and the world’s 3rd-largest location for series, films and documentaries. Then a visit to the Kasbah de Touririt and the film studio.
Next, we go to the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a Unesco heritage site; visit the Kasbah and the old village. Afternoon departure for Marrakech via the Tizi-N-Ticha pass, on the way you’ll enjoy the Tichka pass. A stop on one of the cliffs to appreciate the magic of the mountains and give you the opportunity to take some great photos.
